Geisterberg in St. Johann – Alpendorf
The Alpendorf gondola lift takes you directly to the Geisterberg – one of the most popular family excursion destinations in Salzburger Land. At the top of the Gernkogel it says: “Welcome to the realm of the funny ghosts.”
What awaits you at Geisterberg
Over 40 large and small play stations are spread across four adventure worlds: Earth spirits, fire spirits, water spirits and air spirits. The mascots Spuki and Gspensti accompany you through the world of ghosts. Most of the paths are suitable for baby carriages.

Tip: There is a free ghost medallion and ghost stickers at the cable car ticket office. You can find the individual ghosts and their tasks on the panoramic map. Have you solved all the tasks? Then hand in the medallion at the ticket office and receive a small gift.
Hiking on the Gernkogel
In addition to the Geisterberg, scenic hikes around the Gernkogel, Hirschkogel and Sonntagskogel start from the mountain station. 17 km of marked hiking trails lead through the alpine landscape. Two huts invite you to take a break: the Buchauhütte and the Gernkogelalm.
